My Dark, Hidden Side

AOL Music: Irish Descendants: 'Catch the Wind'   (from the beginning chords, I knew I'd heard this song many, many, many years ago.  I remember it from my childhood, I remember hearing it played on the radio in Los Angeles during the 1960s.  Some things do not change with time.  I loved this song then, as I love this song now)

In honor of Saint Pat, last night I painted my toe nails green.  A really, really dark green.  Almost black...green.  Didn't like the outcome, but I didn't feel like starting over either.  So, I tried a couple of coats of white polish over the green.  Actually, it's not too bad...in fact, I kinda like it.  It's different.

Didn't do the same to my fingernails on account of the board meeting this afternoon.  So, how many accountants do you know with frosty green toenails?  Only one I'll bet.  I don't quite fit the stereotypical accountant...you know, stuffed shirt, straight lace, suit and tie...er, wait, I was wearing a suit today, but no tie.

And here's something to ponder.  In school, I hated math.  Hated it!  So which career path did I choose to follow...accounting (actually I kinda stumbled onto it, but that's a minor detail).  In school I hated history.  What's the point...who cares?  It already happened.  So what is one of my favorite hobbies?  Genealogy.  Aka family history.

Go figure

An Irish Blessing (there are many, but this is one of my favorites)

May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.

~~Share your vision.~~

Great toes!  now if i had only thought of that, lol.   I want to thank you on 2 counts.  first, thanks for the info on putting a photo in 'about me'    i'm on a new laptop now and must take some new photos to load on here first    then i will attempt to add a pic.   second and more importantly, thanks for your enlightening words in regards to the loss of my postal customer/friend.    it was nice to be reminded to open one's heart, for that is really what's important in life.    i did take a few days from work this week to hold Gary dear.  i still can't believe he's gone   time will heal    in time, i desire to befriend his daughter who lives in his house now, but right now she is still hurting understandably so.   thanks again Dona   ~kbear

Hi :o)
Thank you for sending me your link, after the lovely comment you left in my journal I just had to visit and have a read of yours.  Am going to add you to my alerts, I like it here!!  I can see we have some things in common just from reading one entry, I HATED maths at school, and I LOVE family histories.  I have an Uncle that found out alot about my family history.  It's so interesting, I did an entry months ago about my Russian Great Grandparents, and their experiences both living in Russia and coming to England during the Russian revolution.  Well, look at me rabbiting on about myself!!  Sorry about that!!  Love the green nail polish ;o)

Hey Sara, that's okay, your not rabbiting.  LOL!  My grandfather is from Russia as well, Russian-German to be exact, and he immigrated to the US as a very young child.  ~Dona
