Human Nature

Our thoughts.

Sometimes they should remain in 'our brain.' But not always. I don't consider myself to be a great thinker or even an awesome writer. Just an ordinary person...stepping lightly on her path. I often hop, and dance, and bump, and skip, and I've been known to do a cart wheel or two. Maybe a round-off here and there. And after giving it much consideration, I'm leaving this journal public. Period.

I'm not living in fear, anymore.

Sam and I had a very heartfelt talk about this very topic the other day. And regardless of what some people may think and say...and you know who you are...I will continue to write. I have something to share and say, about a lot of things. I will say them and here is where it will happen. While I had already made my mind up about this days before, I queried Sam about it; he always brings a different perspective to things and I wanted to know his thoughts. Bottom line is he supports my writing, but it was when he said, "You don't need to justify why you write to anyone, including me." Wham! Bam! Thank you Sam! He nailed it.

Justify. Just=properly due or merited; -ify=from.

Right.

He colored my world a different color. A color that reminded me that I love life. I love sharing. I love helping. I love writing. I love reading. I love communicating. I don't have to explain to anyone why. Yes, there are people I will interact with who just don't get it...or get me; maybe they never will. And while I do value them as individuals and may sometimes even value their opinions, when it comes to this journal...my place...they have no right to question what I write or think. I have survived many things...the wrath of humans and the natural world...things most people can't imagine. And here I am, still standing (thank you, Marc).

There's a reason I am. I'm going to find out what it is and this may be the very place where I find the answer.

I am...

I am...

I am...

I am!

PS.  I've been without internet for the past week...hopefully tonight I will be back on-line.

..so many have pondered this very subject...I was here in the beginning when J's had a 500 word limit including font size, color, and graphics which reduced the space in which we had to say what we wanted. My J started off as a chronicle of B and I..."today I went to the mailbox....got junk mail....B and I played checkers....contemplating a tossed salad for dinner"....lol..it was a real journal for me...then slowly, (there were only 30 or 40 J's) I started meeting people and seeing that there were diff. J's...funny ones...sad ones. J's with just graphics...ones where it was a place to show case one's writing.....slowly J's grew and grew....and that means there are so many varieties as well as so many reasons why people keep a journal, public or not...in the end it is always up to the writer as to the how and why of their J...it's theirs...the end...finito....some say "I am writing for me"...or I enjoy the friendships, or  "I enjoy showcasing what I have to offer by way of writing....whatever the reason I say Sam is right, no need for justification......E

I believe the purpose of this forum is to allow people to share what they think, what they feel: their very essence. It is what makes this such a wonderful use of our most precious right: freedom of speech.

The joy I have found through my time in the Journals area is the willingness of so many people to share their most delicate secrets, their hopes dreams and wishes, as well as offering their opinions on such a wide variety of topics. I have stated time and again, that this allows us to get to know people in the very best way: from the inside out. I have grown to care about a great many people whose lives I'd have most likely never even encountered, no less shared in.

And for anyone to try and dictate to others on what exactly they choose to speak of, well that is about the greatest offense I can think of at the moment.

I look forward to your every entry, and never want you to be anything less than the writer you are. Your work is appreciated very much.

I loved this entry, and the comments left before mine.
Good for you my dear.
And thanks for reminding me that we don't have to justify what we write or why we write it :o)

I am happy you've decided to stay public!  Thanks, Sam!!

I love to read about your life.  I have always been of the opinion that if one did not like the blog they were reading, they could hit that big X in a square in the top right corner ;)

I have seen many people fall to the pressure of some strangers bad mouthing them in the comment section, and I am glad you are not one of them!  Stand your ground, continue YOUR blog, YOUR way... and be done with the naysayers :)

Boo to them, they should find a life somewhere and stop interferring in others...

Nice to have you 'home' ;)

BRAVO!   BRAVO!   i'm sooo happy you're staying public   i feel journaling is a place for YOU not to be catered to what others think   if they don't like what you have to say, they CAN move on!   up their nose with a rubber hose or something!   I LOVE everything you've ever written in your journal   you bring me great laughter, some tears, and some awesome thinking and photos!   YOU ARE (I AM) and that's all that matters!~kbear

Just as we have the instinct to duck when an object is coming directly at our heads, we have this intrinsic feeling to be connected with something greater than we are.......Our acceptance of God for the past umpteen thousand years supports that statement.
Your heart is drawn to Blue skies, gentle breezes, storms and sunsets. Your wonderful pictures here, show us...your mind is always reaching out somewhere..to  be connected  to something bigger, grander!
This is where you belong....connecting with us,  in journal land, a large stream of minds, encouraging , praising and helping the healing process with your sharing.

With the wisdom you will circulate, the gentle breeze of Peace will lift you!

Marc :)

I love the quote at the end of this entry.  About your entry, I truly believe you have to do what's best for you, every individual does.  Follow your heart.

You've always been a great writer!  And I'm not just saying that cuz I'm your sis.  You put so much heart and feeling into your words and they just seem to flow so easily for you.

I've enjoyed your journal and learning a bit about your thoughts and feelings.

I think that all journals should be written for the writer not the reader.  Well said Dona, this a good honest entry and I applaud you!  I`m glad you are staying public and I shall continue to be a regular reader! :-)
