Fall trail challenge

On Saturday, October 23, Duke and I participated in our second trail challenge held at Lewis Clark Saddle Club in Clarkston, WA. This challenge was quite different from the one last May and more challenging. There were a few tense moments, and Duke was definitely on his toes, more extroverted than normal. All in all, we had a lot of fun and learned a great deal. This was a real test of our relationship. And I have my homework assignments.

But I'm gonna have to have a serious talk with my cameraman-husband, because at times I'm not sure what he was recording.

What fun this looks like! I know it's something Mick would like and I'd like to try it on Boo. Unfortunately for Boo he's not much for trail courses. He always gets the rainbow ribbon when the girls use him for 4H. Still, think I'll work on some of this this winter. Oh, loved the music too. Who is that singing and where can I find it?

Wow, somebody had some great ideas for obstacles! I can see how you put our relationship first with your horse. Good job!

wilsonc - even if you don't compete, playing with the obstacles adds a layer of interest to the sessions and helps refine our communication.

Petra - thank you! I had fun and I believe Duke did too! He was a bit worried in a few places, but overall he stayed relaxed.

kbear - may need to hire a cameraperson for the next time!

The music is posted at the end of the video, but if you can't sit through the entire 15 minutes here's the list of songs in order:
Horses and life - Mary Ann Kennedy
Heart in your hands - Mary Ann Kennedy
Mirror, mirror - Mary Ann Kennedy
Spirit horse - Mary Ann Kennedy
All are available on iTunes.

Thanks for watching!
